The documentary series "Patterns of life" takes us to the most remote regions of the planet, on the trail of tribal tattooing, to meet the rare peoples who have kept their traditional practice intact. The images of the two Dutch writers-directors, Sophie Brouwer and Michaël Zomer, are superb and the subject matter serious, with Lars Krutak, a famous American anthropologist, well known for his character in the series "The Tattoo Hunter" popularised on the Discovery TV channel, who brings his scientific expertise to the project.
