The Ink Factory 2nd edition. By Pascal Bagot

At the end of The Ink Factory’s 2nd edition in Lyon, we perfectly understand the smiles of organ-isers Teo Milev and Morgane (681 Tattoos). With more than 11,000 visitors over three days, this 2019 vintage is a success. The event, which took place on April 12, 13 and 14, once again at « La Sucrière » in « La Confu-ance » District, seems to have settled into the city’s calendar and satisfied the public’s thirst for ink in the Gauls’ capital. Once more we enjoyed a well thought programme : a solid line up of 150 tattoo artists from 22 countries, rock concerts, animations, exhibitions AND a restaurant honoring the world’s capital of gastronomy thus took part in making this event a total show.

For three days, visitors, informed or not, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the incredi-ble creativity that irrigates the tattoo world in which a wide variety of styles flourish : Japanese, realistic, ornamental, dotwork, art nouveau, Thai, New Polynesian, Neo Traditional, Graphic, etc… All created by the cream of contemporary tattooing. They came from all over the world (Paul Tougas from Canada, artists Tomo, Horimitsu and a few others had travelled from Japan, Pavel Angel from Russia, Benjamin Laukis from Australia, CK from Singapore, etc.), Europe (Fabio Guerreiro from Portugal, Inaki from Spain, Kaloian Smokov from Bulgaria, John Maxx from Romania, etc.).) as well as France where the profusion of talents honors a national passion : Tin-Tin, Manu Badet, Alix Gé, Samoth, Fat Manu, Hozho, Chalie Tutti Frutti, Jérôme Crazy Caps, Laurent Z, Fabbing, Eliot Kohek, G.Rom, Diego Moraes, Abdel Pedro, DaruManu, Cris le Vil, Amy Mymouse, Dodie, Fred, Mark, Steph D., etc. Just a few days after the doors closed, Teo Milev published the 3rd edition’s poster on the net, at-testing to the weekend’s total success. Well Determined to impose Lyon on the European map of conventions as an essential event. We can only be delighted. See you in 2020 !
